Follow the sun
Try starting out on Wawa, Standish, or Strawberry for early morning sun, then on to Divide, Angel, Tee Pee Town or Goat's Eye for great afternoon rays.
Powder mornings
If you are a Sunshine Inn guest or starting off from the upper village area, try a warm up run on Strawberry face.
When avalanche work is completed on Wawa and Standish, don't miss Star Trek, Paris Basin, Laryx, Donkey's Tail and Headwall.
On Lookout Mountain, look for Bye Bye Bowl, Brewster Pockets, Ecstasy, The Shoulder and the Rock Ledges.
Banff based powder hounds head to Goat's Eye Mountain first thing in the morning and hit Big Woody, Goat Chicken Glade, Cleavage and The Wild Side.
For advanced skiers
A favorite way to go to Goat's Eye Mountain from Lookout Mountain is via The Shoulder and Forget-me-not, look for the entrance to the skier's right of Tee Pee Town Chair between Towers 5 & 6 - great views, no people and fresh tracks! Another alternative is via Delirium Dive.
When it is snowing heavily
Try skiing or riding at or below treeline on Standish, Strawberry, Wawa, Wolverine or Jackrabbit.
For good visibility and shelter take a cruise through the Canyon or a 5 km slide down Banff Avenue to the Gondola Base.
