Department: Lift Operations

Reporting to: Lift Operations Supervisor and Assistant Supervisor

Start Dates: Various start dates Wave 1-late October, Wave 2- early November, Wave 3- late November (weather dependent)

Hours: 32-35 hours/week

Lift Operators provide an outstanding experience for our guests. They are responsible for safely loading and unloading guests from the chair lifts as well as answering guest queries. This position requires some physical labour including holding chairs, lifting and carrying snow.

Essential Functions

  • Provide outstanding guest service
  • Assist and direct guests on and off chairlifts in a safe, professional, and efficient manner
  • Monitor and assess guests’ needs by slowing chairlifts down for their safety and enjoyment
  • Shovel snow, chip ice and sweep chairs in a safe and efficient manner
  • Perform daily lift checks, complete timely logs, accident, and/or avalanche reports
  • Effective communication via radios, including prompt emergency notification to dispatch
  • Maintain safety and operating guidelines of lifts and lift ramps as per Z-98 Code requirements
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Passion for providing outstanding guest service
  • Previous manual labour experience is an asset
  • Fluent English proficiency
  • Positive and friendly attitude
  • Ability to self-motivated with strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Willing to work in all weather conditions
  • Must own, or be willing to buy, own skis or snowboard to get to lift locations around the mountain
