Instructor Training

Learn from the very best. Sunshine Village Ski & Snowboard School offers one of the strongest and most recognized programs in North America. The resort’s highly qualified instructors, who are also examiners, offer industry leading programs, designed to empower you with the training to become a certified instructor.

Through the schools most successful 11 and 12 week intensive training programs, you can obtain the high level skills required to work in the ski/snowboard industry as a teaching pro. The end goal provides the training to achieve your Level 2 instructor certification. Sunshine Ski & Snowboard School have been running these industry respected and renowned programs for nearly a dozen years, with an impressive 90 percent pass rate.  Further certifications include terrain park instructor and race coach training.

Sunshine Ski Club

The Sunshine Ski Club has been specializing in Alpine Racing Programs since 1970.  Their goal is to develop racers with good attitudes and a strong spirit for racing and skiing.  Starting as young as 5 years old the ski club offers multi week programs from 1 day to 3 days a week for the whole winter. 

Over the decades of the clubs existence they have produced numerous Canadian team and Olympic athletes.  Their coaches are all certified with the Canadian Ski Coaches Federation and NCCP (National Coaching Certification Program).

Southern Alberta Freestyle Ski Club

The Southern Alberta Freestyle Ski Club has been specializing in competitive freestyle programs since 1985.  They offer programs for kids from entry level freestyle to full competitive programs. If your kids are into bumps and jumps, terrain parks and air, maybe this program can work for you. 

Kids can start training as young 6 years old.  The clubs coaches are certified with the Canadian Freestyle Ski Association and NCCP (National Coaching Certification Program).  Their motto is to improve skiing ability thru teaching of freestyle skiing. Rocky Mountain Adaptive Sports Centre

At Sunshine Village we are proud partners with the Rocky Mountain Adaptive Sports Centre (RMASC)

RMASC is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to enable all children and adults with physical, developmental, and/or cognitive challenges to participate, learn, and excel in all sports and recreational activities in the Canadian Rockies. NO LIMITS!

In the Winter season RMASC provides a range of program opportunities for individuals with a disability to enjoy Alpine Snowsports at Sunshine Village.

So whether it’s downhill skiing or snowboarding that you would like to try; whether you’re an expert or a complete beginner, there is something for you to enjoy. 

RMASC and its partners provide trained and certified instructors and volunteers to help you achieve your goals in the mountains. The promotion of independence in all activities is encouraged to its fullest. RMASC will adapt equipment, techniques, and presentation of instruction wherever needed, relevant to each individual needs.

Private and multi week lessons are available as well as adaptive equipment rentals and a complimentary ‘ski buddy’ service if required.
