Celebrity Ski event at Sunshine to air on Shaw Channel 5 (Spokane KXLY ABC)

Albertans will be able to check out Batman’s Michael Keaton, James Bond’s Pierce Brosnan, Academy Award winner Marcia Gay Harden and Breaking Bad’s Giancarlo Esposito as they play on Sunshine’s slopes, during The Fairmont Banff Springs Sports Invitational 2013.

Scheduled to air in Alberta on Shaw Channel 5 (Spokane KXLY ABC) at 3 p.m. MST, Sunday, April 14th, the televised program will highlight Hollywood skiing and competing in alpine events at the world renowned resort.

The annual event raised funds for the Waterkeeper Alliance in Canada and the United States, which took place this past January 31 – February 3. Hosted by Robert F. Kennedy, stars such as Susan Sarandon, Alan Thicke and Alicia Silverstone took to the slopes to take part in tobogganing, snowshoeing and dual giant slalom racing.

Additional stars to watch for include:  Alan Thicke, Fran Drescher, Camryn Manheim and Lyle Lovett and his Large Band, Matthew Gray Gubler, Lorenzo Lamas, Cheech Marin, Mimi Rogers, Melissa Rivers, Cheryl Hines, James Edward Olmos, Jimmy Rankin, Melissa Gilbert, AJ Cook, Minnie Driver, Rob Morrow and Tim Busfield, among many others.

Waterkeeper Alliance is the fastest-growing environmental movement in the world, uniting Waterkeepers who patrol and protect rivers, bays, lakes and streams on six continents—more than 1.6 million square miles of waterways. Waterkeeper Alliance is the leading voice for the world’s waters with roots dating back to 1966, when a concerned group of commercial and recreation fishermen mobilized to reclaim the Hudson River from polluters.
