Remembering our veterans

Canadian Forces members ski free opening weekend

November 9, 2012

Sunshine Village Ski and Snowboard Resort would like to thank our Canadian Armed Forces this Remembrance Day weekend by offering both veterans and active members free skiing or snowboarding.

This Saturday, November 10th and Sunday, November 11th, as we respectfully observe those who fought so bravely for our country, Sunshine invites veterans and active members of armed forces to enjoy a complementary ski experience at the resort.

Families, who come out to ski with their Canadian Armed Forces loved ones, will receive a 50 per cent discount off of the lift ticket price.

“We are honoured to be able to support our Canadian Forces personnel who have sacrificed so much,” begins Ralph D. Scurfield, President and principal owner of Sunshine Village Ski and Snowboard Resort. “This weekend, as we celebrate the start to our season, we also want to take a moment to show our appreciation to the courageous men and women who make our world a safer place.”

Sunshine Village will observe a moment of silence at 11 a.m. on Sunday, November 11th in respect for our Canadian veterans and to honour fallen soldiers.
