Kids ski free Sunshine Village celebrates FIS World Snow Day with free skiing for kids under 12 January 14, 2013 Join Sunshine Village for the second annual FIS World Snow Day. In celebration of this global event, Sunshine will feature a weekend-long celebration January 19 and 20th, including free skiing or snowboarding for kids under 12*. The focus is to encourage all families to experience the outdoors in winter and promote snow sports among the younger generation. With an exceptional start to 2013, including recent massive amounts of champagne powder falling on the resort to date, Sunshine Village provides the perfect conditions for a fun-filled family weekend. In addition to hosting FIS World Snow Day celebrations, the resort will also feature Avalanche Awareness Days where guests can learn hands on with Sunshine’s snow safety and ski patrol teams all weekend long. The FIS World Snow Day is the second phase of the 'Bring Children to the Snow' campaign which encourages FIS Member National Ski Associations to promote snow sports within their country. We are very excited to welcome this world-wide event to Sunshine Village once again.
