Sunshine Village has earned the top honour in the Ski Resort category with the Calgary Herald Readers’ Choice Awards.
This prestigious accolade marks the resort’s 5th consecutive win in the Gold category and 11th consecutive Readers’ Choice nod, solidifying its dominance as best ski resort in the Canadian Rockies.
Sunshine Village also picked up a win in the Ski Store category.
“Putting the guest first is what keeps us on top,” says Tanya Otis, Manager of Communications, Media & Advertising for Sunshine Village Ski and Snowboard Resort. “Each year, we reinvest back into the resort to ensure skiers and riders get the best possible experience.”
The upcoming 2012-2013 season holds epic promise. With opening day scheduled for November 9th (Mother Nature dependent), and recent major snowfalls providing a solid base, the season is already shaping up to be a memorable one.
“Along with the friendly atmosphere, the champagne powder snow is one of the things people just love about Sunshine,” says Otis. “Coming off a record breaking season, in which we experienced a draw-dropping 34 feet of snow, we are buzzing with anticipation for what is to come.”
Sunshine Village has the longest non-glacial season in Canada and is renowned for its champagne powder snow.
