Sunshine to Host final Salomon Rail Jam of the season

Sunshine Village Ski Resort is set to host Alberta’s up and coming freestyle skiers and riders at the Salomon SlushShine Rail Jam on Saturday, May 17.

This final rail jam of the ski season will feature some of the region’s best young skiers and riders testing their skills in a variety of features over a pool of icy, mountain water on the Pandemonium Hill in front of the Trapper’s Spring Patio.

Guests of the resort can watch both the men and women skiers and riders compete for cash prizes or showcase their own tricks by signing up for one of the four categories in this friendly competition.

Registration to participate in the event is $20 for both youth aged 13-17 and adults over 18. An awards ceremony will take place at 4 p.m. on the Pando Hill. Contestants can pre-register is available at General Office (located at the base area above the Rental Shop) and Calgary Office-Snow Central.

Check-In is in the West Wing Meeting Room of the Sunshine Mountain Lodge between 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. or until full (maximum of 60 participants).

The weekend will also feature live performances from Fernie-based, Shred Kelly; the fourth act in the popular Sunshine Spring Concert Series. The outdoor musical offerings run every weekend leading up to the 86th annual Slush Cup on May 19. Both the slopestyle event and spring concert series are accessible to all of Sunshine’s on-mountain guests.
