Spring at Sunshine Village

Join Sunshine Village this spring on Canada’s Best Snow

March 6, 2013

With warm temperatures and 59 cm (1 ft 11 in) of new snowfall kicking off the first week of March, powder season has officially arrived at Sunshine Village. And with more of the white stuff anticipated over the next couple of days, the resort is primed for an exceptional entry into spring.

New Spring Break Ski Programs

This March and April, Sunshine has unveiled new ski school programs designed to help people of all ages enhance their abilities on the slopes. Guests from 3-years-old and beyond (yes, adults too) can take spring break camps with Sunshine’s industry recognized ski and snowboard school. With three and four day classes from beginner to advanced, the resort offers a wide variety of programs to suit the entire family.

Spring passes hot off the press

Our spring passes are on sale now which enables skiers and riders to hit the slopes up to 67 days starting March 14 until May 19. From just $300, guests can enjoy unlimited skiing and riding on Sunshine’s slopes. The resort is famous for having Canada’s longest non-glacial season which means it stays open longer than any other resort in the Canadian Rockies.

Spring Hours: longer days equals more runs

Guests will have the opportunity to extend their ski day when spring hours begin on March 21. Most of Sunshine’s lifts will be open a half an hour later with the Jackrabbit Quad chair staying open until 5 p.m.

Spring is also the perfect time for barbecue’s, outdoor patios and live music. Be sure to check out the Goat’s Eye Gardens or Trapper’s patio once the weather warms up for a refreshing drink and hearty lunch. Every weekend starting April 20and 21 enjoy live music with Sunshine’s popular Spring Concert Series.

Spring forward this Sunday

Don’t forget to spring forward this Sunday, March 9 as daylight savings time begins. Spring is also less than two weeks away and with current 209 cm settled base (6 ft 10 in) and counting, there’s no better time to take advantage of Canada’s best slopeside terrain.
