With glorious champagne powder greeting celebrities on their second day of the Fairmont Banff Springs Celebrity Invitational at Banff’s Sunshine Village Ski and Snowboard Resort today, it was simply heaven on earth.
Snow began to fall in the early hours of Saturday morning, after stars enjoyed a gorgeous bluebird day and warm temperatures on Friday.
“Many celebrities are changing their flights and coming back tomorrow Sunday for Sunshine’s incredible snow,” said John Scurfield, “Personally, my favourite part of today was skiing the Shoulder with James
Carpinello, hearing him hoot for joy, and having him tell me how Sunshine Village is his ski resort.”
Sunshine guests were thrilled to turn around and literally bump into some of their favorite stars from Hollywood.
Alec Baldwin, Kevin Sorbo, Cheryl Hines, Alicia Silverstone, Edward James Olmos, Giancarlo Esposito and Virginia Madsen were among the dozens of celebs enjoying the exceptional conditions at Sunshine Village.
The day’s activities began with a snowshoe up beside Wawa followed by tobogganing races.
On Saturday, the competition heated up with a dual giant slalom course off Strawberry lift.
During the lunch hour, celebs and corporate guests dined on a gourmet lunch in a beautiful setting at Chimney Corner lounge in the Sunshine Mountain Lodge.
Crispy comfit sliders, beetroot and cinnamon cured salmon gravlax, cranberry crusted wild boar loin, and dark and white chocolate dipped profiteroles were among the many delicacies celebrity snacked on during their leisurely afternoon lunch.
On Saturday evening, the weekend long festivities culminate with the Sports Invitational’s Waterkeeper Alliance Gala Dinner, Auction and Concert at The Fairmont Banff Springs.
Over 1.1 million was raised in support of Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.’s Waterkeeper Alliance.
