Sunshine Village sets the stage for a memorable holiday season
With champagne powder enveloping the resort and a solid base exceeding one metre, Sunshine Village is primed for an exceptional holiday season.
Kicking off December with the annual Santa Clause Parade of Lights, Sunshine volunteers and staff delivered candy to Christmas lovers of all ages, while displaying a vibrant, snowman-themed float.
December also marks the 26th anniversary of the Scurfield family stepping forward to revive the Lions Festival of Lights, Calgary’s largest free Christmas Lights display. Mayor Naheed Nenshi sparked up the lights along Confederation Park, which will be on display every evening from 7 p.m. - midnight until January 8th, 2013.

Santa will be at the resort on the third and fourth weekend of December from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. and on December 25th from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. See if you can spot him on the slopes or taking pictures in the Sunshine Mountain Lodge lobby.
On December 24th and December 31st guests of the Sunshine Mountain Lodge are in for a treat as our specially trained Sunshine Village torch bearers illuminate the mountain with both our Christmas and New Year’s Eve Torchlight Parades.
December 30th is World Snowboard Day. Join Sunshine Village and strap on your board to be a part of world history. The resort will feature holiday specials and events on this internationally-recognized day.
Just unveiled: Springhill Park now open
With six new leading-edge features introduced this season, Sunshine Village will open the Springhill Park on Saturday, December 15th. The Springhill Park, coupled with one of the earliest openings on record of the Rogers Terrain Park, will be sure to excite the skier and rider in all of us. Be sure to check out the ever-expanding list of features being introduced in Sunshine Village’s parks.
