Sunshine Village to kick off Annual Bow Valley Community Ski Day

December 11, 2013

Sunshine Village helps raise money for the Banff Mineral Springs Hospital in this year’s Community Ski Day

This upcoming Friday, December 13th Sunshine Village will get into the giving spirit of the holidays with the annual tri-area Community Ski Day. All money raised will be donated to local charities including the Banff Mineral Springs Hotel.

“The hospital is such a valuable part of the community as so many people benefit from the care provided locally here in Banff,” explained Leslie de Bie, Coordinator of Foundation Support and Volunteer Services at the Banff Mineral Springs Hospital.

With the purchase of a $30 +GST ticket, residents of the Bow Valley can enjoy a full day of skiing or riding at Sunshine Village. Money raised over the weekend will support the Banff Mineral Spring’s 14th Annual Fundraising Gala, which helps their efforts in constructing a new safe room for the hospital.

“Currently when people come to the hospital they are directed to the emergency department.  Patients that have been involved in a stressful or difficult and traumatic situation need to have a sense of privacy that is not currently provided in the emergency room at the hospital,” explained de Bie.

The historic Banff Mineral Springs Hospital has been serving the community since the late 1800s and works to support both long-term care patients, and has some of the best orthopedic surgeons that operate in Canada.

This event offers a great opportunity to discover the exceptional champagne powder at Sunshine Village while giving back to the community.

Please note: ID and proof of local residence will be required to purchase a discounted lift ticket.
