: Alec Baldwin & Marcia Gay Harden & Other Hollywood Celebrities at Sunshine Village Ski Resort in Banff, Alberta

Slope loving celebs raised an avalanche
of dough for the Waterkeeper’s Alliance during the 2012 Fairmont Banff Springs Sport Invitational, generating $1.1 million to keep North American waterways pure.

The Jan. 12 to 15 event, co-hosted by Robert Kennedy Jr. and award winning actors Alec Baldwin and Marcia Gay Harden, saw Hollywood A- to C-listers compete in ski events, snowshoeing and tobogganing at Sunshine Village before retiring to the Fairmont Banff Springs for the Stargazer gala dinner and concert by Michael Mcdonald.

This year’s luminaries included Edward James Olmos, Kevin Sorbo, Alicia Silverstone, Peter Fonda, Lorenzo Lamas, Ed Begley Jr., Brad Garrett, Kelly Lebrock and Virginia Madsen among others.

Thanks to balmy temperatures and flawless conditions at Sunshine Village, officials believe this year’s fundraiser will be hard to beat.

“Sunshine Village’s has an unwavering commitment to the environment and we were extremely proud to again host a great event that will provide resources to keep our rivers and waterways clean,” said John Scurfield, senior vice-president sales, marketing and resort operations.

“It was simply fantastic to see so many stars enjoying Canada’s best snow and spectacular gourmet luncheon put on by our great team of chefs.”
