Restriction Exemption Pre-Check Program

This winter at Banff Sunshine, we are implementing the Province of Alberta’s Restriction Exemption Program (REP) to access our Resort. We are committed to the health and safety of our guests, and are proud to be participating in the REP.

All guests will be screened prior to entry and will then be able to enjoy full access to all the services and amenities our Resort has to offer.

Guests who use our Banff Sunshine shuttle bus will also need to be screened prior to loading.

Who qualifies for a precheck under our Restrictions Exemption Program?

As part of Banff Sunshine’s REP, guests who have a picture pass can get registered. These passes include Banff Sunshine Season Pass, or a registered (Direct-to-Lift) Sunshine SuperCard, SkiBig3 passes, Mountain Collective passes and IKON passes, allowing them quicker access at the point of entry into the Resort.

Mobile Direct-to-Lift Super Cards are not currently eligible for precheck verification, because they do not have a picture on them.

If I meet the picture pass requirement above, what do I need to show to get my Banff Sunshine REP precheck verification?

1.      Guests who hold a picture pass (outlined above) must show two documents:

a.      Valid proof of double (or a single dose under an accepted single-dose series of vaccination) vaccination against COVID-19.

b.      Government-issued personal identification that shows the guest’s full name and date of birth and matches the information on their proof of vaccination.

Guests will need to present their verified picture passes at our point of entry screening at the Ticket Office plaza each time they visit the Resort, and may be asked to present government-issued personal identification to confirm their identity. Guests with verified picture passes won’t need to show proof of vaccination each time they visit.

*The second dose of vaccine must have been given two (2) or more weeks prior to verification.

*Youth aged 12 to 17 are eligible for the Precheck if they have a Picture Pass. They do not need to present personal identification to be verified.

If you qualify to be verified under Banff Sunshine’s REP, and attempt to tamper with or remove your Picture Pass verification, it will become VOID and you will not be eligible to participate.

Where can I get my Restriction Exemption Program Sticker?

You can get your REP Sticker at the following locations:

1.      Calgary Snow Central Office – 1037 11th Ave SW, Calgary AB T2R 0G1

2.      Sunshine Village Ski and Snowboard Resort

What if I do not qualify for this program?

Guests visiting Banff Sunshine this winter who hold a lift ticket, or a picture pass but are presenting proof of a negative test result each time they visit (proof that “expires”), do not qualify for the precheck verification program.

This means you will have to present your proof of vaccination and your government-issued personal identification each time you go through our Point of Entry screening at our Ticket Office Plaza to access our Resort services and amenities, and each time you are loading a Banff Sunshine shuttle bus.
