On Wednesday, November 15th we checked off our "First Official Powder Day," of the ski season. On the morning of November 15th, skiers and snowboarders were treated to 14 cm (6 in) overnight.  As the snow continued to fall, skiers and snowboarders cheered with glee, as the storm produced powder day, after powder day at Banff Sunshine Village. During the seven-day storm cycle,  74 cm (2'6") of Canada's Best Snow accumulated on our mountain slopes. The super November storm, climaxed the night of November 19th. On which we woke to 24 cm in 24 hours.

On the morning of the 20th, as the mountain came to life, skiers and snowboarders qued up in anticipation for the first chair. As the clock struck 9, the giggles and shouts of excited skiers and snowboarders could be heard throughout the resort. The fresh snow, flew as the lucky riders carved their first lines. The powder was light, dry, and blew like cold smoke. It rode smooth underfoot, and fresh tracks were being claimed from the first chair to the last chair.

Lucky for us, more snow is expected to trickle in through the week. Environment Canada is calling for more snow and precipitation in the Rockies for American Thanksgiving. We say, "let it snow!"

Thanks to the surplus of fresh snow, our mountain operations team has plenty of snow to farm with as they work to open up Divide and Goat's Eye Express. Our team is anticipating that Divide will be the next chair to open. Once it opens,  we'll have 11 out of our 12 lifts open, and our lift ticket will increase to $104. .
