Opening Day Winter 25/26

The wait is nearly over. Winter has returned to the Canadian Rockies, and we’re thrilled to share that Banff Sunshine Village will officially open for the 2025/26 winter season this Sunday, November 2nd.

Thanks to consistent early-season snowfall and a helping hand from Mother Nature, our mountain team has been hard at work getting the slopes ready for our first turns of the year. Beginning Sunday morning, guests can make their way up the gondola and enjoy skiing and riding off Strawberry Express — the first chair of the new season.

What’s Open This Weekend

As we kick off another season on Canada’s Best Snow, several of your favourite resort spots will be ready to welcome you back:

Strawberry Express Chairlift (9AM to 4PM) , Sunshine Gondola (8AM to 5:30PM) and Mitey Mite Conveyor Lift with the following runs:

Strawberry Terrain Park with the following features:

Trappers, Alpine Grill, Java Lift, and Java Station
Bourgeau Rental Shop and select Retail locations

Our Ski & Snowboard School and Daycare will remain closed for opening weekend as our team continues to prepare for full operations in the coming weeks.

Ticket Prices, Sunshine Super Cards and Season Passes

Discounted Lift Tickets will be available for purchase at the Ticket Windows on the day of your visit. Early Season Prices are based on the amount of Lifts and Terrain open. As more opens up to the public Lift Ticket prices will increase and will be announced online on our Day Ticket Page.

We recommend waiting to use and redeem your Sunshine Super Card until later in the season once Lift Ticket prices are at the full rate. This way you will get your best value out of the program.

Sunshine Season Pass Holders who have not yet received their 2025/26 Season Pass can head to Guest Services on the 2nd Floor of Creekside Lodge at the Bourgeau Base Area. We apologize for those who have not received their Season Pass in the mail due to the ongoing Canada Post strike.

A Fresh Start to the Season

Early-season conditions exist, and we’re asking all guests to ski and ride with care as we ease into the new season. The excitement is building, and with more snow in the forecast, our mountain operations teams are already preparing to open additional terrain as soon as conditions allow.
