Summer Skiing at Banff Sunshine
Thanks to a record snow year on the slopes of Banff Sunshine, our team is actively working to ready our mountain for a sweet summer ski season.
Our 2026 Summer Ski Season will start June 20 and run until July 5. That’s 16 days of summer skiing and riding.
At present, our plan is to open the Strawberry Express and Standish Express chairlifts for all 16 days of summer skiing as snow conditions permit. As we get closer to June 20th, we’ll provide updates on exactly what terrain will be open.
Access to summer skiing will be free for anyone with a 2026/27 Sunshine Season Pass, SkiBig3 Season Pass, Rocky Mountain Passport, or any guests staying at Banff’s only ski in, ski out hotel, Sunshine Mountain Lodge. 2026/27 Midweek Pass Holders will be able to ski Monday to Thursday. Anyone with a 2025/26 Sunshine Season Pass, SkiBig3 pass, or Rocky Mountain Passport will receive a 50% discount on summer skiing lift tickets. 2025/26 and 2026/27 IKON and Mountain Collective passes will also receive 50% off.
The window rate lift ticket price for summer skiing will be $80 for an adult lift pass, $50 for youth and seniors, and $30 for children ages 6 to 12. As always, kids 5 and under ski free.
Our on-mountain hotel, Sunshine Mountain Lodge, opens June 19th for the summer.
Throughout our summer ski season, we will be updating conditions on our social media and website. Our team is already thinking about what runs will be groomed for summer carving, and what features will be included in the Summer Strawberry Terrain Park. For guests wanting to make the most of the summer ski season, we recommend staying on mountain at our Sunshine Mountain Lodge. Summer ski access is included with all stays.
During our Summer Ski Season, we will not be open for summer hiking or sightseeing. Our summer sightseeing and hiking season will commence on July 6th, after our summer ski season wraps up.

All of the following will be open 7 days a week during the summer skiing period. Our Sunshine Mountain Lodge and Chimney Corner restaurant will open a day early on June 19. Our Ski School and Day Care will be closed for Summer Skiing.
