Avalanche Awareness Days

Discover the essentials of Snow Safety with the Banff Sunshine Village Snow Safety team!

Join us on March 7th and 8th, 2026, outside the Day Lodge in the village from 9:00AM – 3:00PM for insightful tips highlighting the importance of Snow Safety within our resort, our freeride zones (Delirium Dive and Wild West) and in the surrounding Backcountry.

Also from 9:00AM to 3:00PM at the Top of Wawa, guests can participate in Beacon Basin practice sessions, observe live snow profile digs, and learn how RECCO technology supports rescue efforts. These demonstrations are ongoing throughout the day, so guests are welcome to stop by at any time.

Saturday March 7th

11am Demonstration with our Certified Avalanche dog, Huck!

3pm Explosive Demonstration – Tomahawk
