RBC Training Ground – Snowboard Qualifier

Think you’ve got what it takes to go to the Olympics?

RBC Training Ground is landing at Banff Sunshine Village on May 11, 2026, and it’s inviting all snowboarders to come out and test their Olympic potential.

Since its launch in 2016, RBC Training Ground has helped identify and develop athletic talent across Canada, guiding participants toward the Olympic stage. Now it’s expanding the program to Banff Sunshine Village for a first-of-its-kind sport-specific qualifying event. Free and open to all skills levels, the one-day event invites snowboarders aged 14-25 years old to try their skills across three different disciplines: Alpine (racing), terrain park (freestyle), and snowboard cross. Whether you’re just starting out or already carving at an elite level, you’re encouraged to take part.

Participants will be paired with expert snowboard coaches and talent scouts who will assess the individuals’ potential in each discipline. The goal is to identify and connect promising athletes with pathways toward high-performance sport. Since 2016, over 20,000 athletes have been tested through RBC Training Ground, with 28 alumni going on to represent Team Canada at at a winter or summer games.
