It's everyone's favorite time of the year! 

Held each year on the last day of the season, Slush Cup is a competition where participants ski or snowboard down a run into an icy pool of water. The aim is to skim across the pool until you've reached the end. 

Registration:  

- On the day of the event from 8 AM to 9 AM at the Sprung Structure.  

- $50 per pond skimmer

- As there are limited spots, Sunshine Staff will be handing out Waiting Number Cards to people lining up in front of the Sprung Structure, then will proceed to the registration process.  

Insider's Tip:  

- Come in early to make sure you have a spot! Guests usually start lining up as early as 7:30 AM at the Gondola base.  

- The first jump of Slush Cup will be happening at 12 noon, Monday, May 20th.   
 
 

What do you need?  

- Bring your Photo ID. We won't allow people to register if they don't have a Photo ID with them. 18 and over only.  

- Sign a Waiver/Photo Release and listen to Safety details  

- Have a Costume and Costume Description - Don't forget to make it funny! Your description will be announced by the MC  

- Have a photo taken with your Bib  

- Attend the Safety Meeting at 10:30 AM. If you do not attend the meeting you are not able to participate.

On Monday, May 19th, 2025, brave costumed skiers and snowboarders make a daring attempt to pond skim 110 feet of Rocky Mountain slush in a crowd-pleasing friendly competition. Winners ski away with a $1000 cash prize, a 2025/26 Banff Sunshine Village Season Pass, and bragging rights for the honoring title of, “Mr. Slush Cup,” and “Mrs. Slush Cup.”

A tradition that started on the world-class slopes of Sunshine Village in 1928, Slush Cup is the longest-running end-of-season pond skimming event in North America. The 95th Slush Cup will feature 100 competitors, jaw-dropping costumes, a half-time show, a panel of celebrity judges, and an energetic après celebration as Calgary house music guru, Joanna Magik closes the 2024/25 Ski & Snowboard Season.

The first pond skimmer takes center stage at 12 PM on Monday, May 19th, 2025. Entry to the award-winning spring event, Slush Cup, is included with any valid Banff Sunshine lift ticket or season pass. Slush Cup Weekend attendees dressed from head to ski boot in their best Après All Day themed outfit will save $50 off a regular-priced Youth, Senior, or Adult Full Day Lift Ticket at the ticket window from May 17th-19th.

The après won't quit as Joanna Magik spins all weekend long for our final splash of the ski and snowboard season! Locals favorite athletic, high-energy DJ & producer, Joanna Magik blends house, techno and bass music on the dance floor.
