Summer at Sunshine Village, Banff Canada It’s official—Sunshine Village has opened its 8-person gondola, Standish high speed quad chairlift and for the first time ever, the Sunshine Mountain Lodge for hiking, sightseeing and staying in the summer of 2017! Beat the Banff crowds and stay 7,000 ft. above ordinary at Sunshine Village. Ride the Standish quad chairlift to over 2,400 m (7,875 ft) – the highest Gondola / Chairlift access sightseeing elevation in the Banff and Lake Louise area - and experience 360 degree views of the Rocky Mountains that surround you. From there, catch even more breathtaking scenery from the Standish viewpoint platform and take in the view of the three high-alpine lakes; Larynx, Grizzly and Rock Isle. Be sure to grab lunch and a cold beverage at the infamous Mad Trapper’s Smokehouse or opt to take a picnic lunch. In the evening once the lift and gondola closes, enjoy dinner in the famous Chimney Corner restaurant then go for a soak in the hot pool (the biggest in the Banff area!). Afterwards, lay your head down in one of the Sunshine Mountain Lodge’s 5 unique rooms, all with breathtaking views and modern amenities.
