Pets are not permitted anywhere in the Sunshine Meadows or at the Resort.
Banff Sunshine Village supports limited scope access for our guests who are dependent on Service or Guide Dogs, provided that:
– The handler can show an identification card or other written document authorized by a provincial Minister; and the Service or Guide Dog is always under direct control of the handler, is housebroken, trained, and being utilized for a specific disability.
The Resort will request a Service Dog be removed if an issue arises or it does not meet the above requirements. Reasonable efforts will be made so individuals may still participate in our services or activities without having the Service Dog on the premises.
Service Dogs may ride in Gondola cabins and go anywhere in our indoor buildings where the public is also permitted.
RESTRICTIONS
– Service Dogs are not permitted on chairlifts.
– Service Dogs are not permitted on open runs/ski trails during operating hours.
– Service Dogs are not permitted on the Sunshine Meadows sightseeing trails.
– Additional permanent, temporary, or seasonal closures of terrain, trails, and areas must be respected by all guests, including persons with Service Dogs.
The use of Service Dogs on chairlifts and ski terrain directly conflicts with Banff Sunshine Village’s regulatory requirements and impedes the reasonably safe operation of on mountain activities. These safety requirements are based on actual risk and are not intended to be discriminatory in any way.
Banff Sunshine Village supports programming for certified dogs-in-training for avalanche search and rescue work which are under the direct care and control of Banff Sunshine Village or Parks Canada personnel – you may see these working dogs around the Resort and riding in the Gondola/on chairlifts.
