Don’t forget to spring ahead today! The days are getting longer which means more time to ski and ride at Sunshine. All lifts are open until 4:30 p.m. with the Jackrabbit chair staying open until 5:00 p.m. every day until May 18th, 2015.

 

March 15: All ability scavenger hunt RMASC ShredAbility with prizes

The 2nd annual ShredAbility is an all-mountain scavenger hunt & fundraising event happening at Sunshine with all proceeds going to the Rocky Mountain Adaptive Sports Centre and its life changing programs. To register, visit www.rmasc.ca/get-involved/shredability/.

April 4-5: Easter Bunny on the Mountain

Family-friendly activities abound this weekend as the Easter Bunny makes an appearance at Sunshine to help the kids collect chocolate Easter eggs hidden all around the mountain.

 

April 5: Easter Sunday - Church Service, Easter Bunny on the Mountain, Egg Hunts

Take in the popular Easter Church service at the top of the Strawberry chair while being surrounded by the picturesque Rocky Mountains. The resort will also feature a delectable Easter Brunch in the Chimney Corner Lounge.

 

Jimmy Rankin Acoustic PerformanceApril 7: Jimmy Rankin Live Acoustic Performance

Jimmy Rankin is going for it. Twenty-five years into a career that has seen him embraced as one of Canada’s most beloved singer-songwriters and hit makers, with platinum albums and pretty much every award the nation hands out,  Come see Jimmy Rankin play live at Sunshine Village, Tuesday April 7th and a special evening performance at the Sunshine Mountain Lodge.

 

April 11: Molson Coors Spring Beer Gardens Open

Grab a pint of your favourite beverage in the Molson Coors Beer Garden located in the village. Look for samples of Molson products like Rickard’s Shandy, Canadian Cider and Canadian 67 while listening to local DJ’s perform on the village stage.

APRIL 12: SPRING CONCERT SERIES: PORT JUVEE

Calgary natives and 5-piece band PORT JUVEE will bring their unique sound that seamlessly clips summer carelessness together with city cynicism. They’ve played at Sled Island, X-Fest and won X92.9FM Calgary’s Xposure contest. 

 

April 18: 2016 Salomon Demo Day

Try out the new fleet of 2016 high performance Salomon ski and snowboards.

 

April 18 & 19: U16 Cresa Finals Giant Slalom

Take in the incredible speed of Alberta’s young alpine athletes with the Cresa U16 Slalom and Giant Slalom racing. This two-day event, hosted by the Sunshine Alpine Racers, will see some of the top racers in the Province compete to win.

 

APRIL 18 & 19: SPRING CONCERT SERIES: RUSTIC BROTHERS

This Calgary-based Roots/Rock Collective features Curtis Cripps, Randy Hutchings & Andrzej Ryszka. Rustic Brothers formed in February 2011 and have been very busy performing all over southern Alberta with their own brand of Americana roots fueled rock. 

 

APRIL 25 & 26: SPRING CONCERT SERIES: UNTIL RED

Having played together since they were 14 years old, Until Red’s chemistry is palpable and their goal is first and foremost to entertain. The three boys are full-time musicians and have brought their distinctly Manitoban Roots-Rock to the Winnipeg Folk Festival, Brandon Folk Festival, Harvest Sun Festival, Dauphin Countryfest and more.

May 2 & 3: Sunshine Slopestyle powered by Rockstar Energy + Spring Concert Series

Try something new and sign up for the Sunshine Slopestyle. This popular event will take place in the Divide Terrain Park off the Angel lift and will feature two dedicated spectator areas for guests to enjoy the competition. Guests can also enjoy live music all weekend.

MAY 2 & 3: SPRING CONCERT SERIES: FUNK N DISORDERLY

Returning act Funk n Disorderly have played almost all of the bars in the Bow Valley and have been called “Banff’s best party band.” They play anything from funk, to reggae, to rock ‘n roll and maybe even come country. All of this happens organically; they just watch the crowd and follow their lead.

 

MAY 9 & 10: SPRING CONCERT SERIES: TIM HUS

Tim Hus is Albertan through and through and one who takes the history of Canada seriously. He's an artist who creates his songs from a place of deep respect and understanding, and Hus has never been more on the mark than with Hockeytown, his latest album for Stony Plain Records.

 

May 16: Salomon SlushShine Rail Jam

What better way to enjoy the last weekend of the season than with one final rail jam? The SlushShine Rail Jam will see skiers and riders take on special features spread over water competing for cash prizes.

MAY 16-18: SPRING CONCERT SERIES: NEW MOON

New Moon are no strangers to Sunshine’s Spring Concert Series. They’ve been playing together for over 30 years and currently have over 150 songs in their repertoire. They hail from all over Western Canada, but since they’ve been playing together for so long when they do meet up, it’s like they were never apart. 


May 17: Bikinis & Boardshorts - Ride & Ski for Cancer

Back by popular demand is the 7th annual Bikini’s and Boardshorts ski and ride for cancer happening on Sunday, May 17th. This popular event will once again see men and women of all ages skiing or riding in their bikini tops and snow pants or boardshorts down Strawberry face bringing awareness and raising money for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.


May 18: 87th Annual Slush Cup

The Slush Cup turns 87 this year and as usual will see participants dressed to impress, with skiers and riders donning original costumes as they try their hand at clearing the infamous ice-cold pond.
