Mountain Manager, Al Matheson gives us the goods on the top five places to ski at Sunshine Village

1)      On overcast days the tree lines off Wolverine, Teepee Town, and Wawa lifts can’t be beat. Not only are the trees beautiful to ski in, but they also provide some definition and give you the best visibility. Some of my favourite trees to head into are the Tin Can trees.

2)      On bluebird days some of my favourite runs are off the Goats Eye Lift and include upper glade runner. It’s a steeper pitch and a very consistent fall line.

3)      Most people start their day off by getting off the gondola in the village, I suggest getting off the gondola at Goats Eye. On powder days it’s very spectacular and a fantastic way to start your day.

4)      Big Woody, off Goats Eye, is another one of my favourite places because the glades are just perfect. There’s tons of room to ski the trees and they collect tons of powder.

5)      Spring skiing at Sunshine is world renowned for a reason. You can start the day late and ski some of the best snow well into the warmer months of spring.
