A perfect trifecta of Canada’s Best Snow will be complete on Saturday, when Goat’s Eye, the third big mountain at  Sunshine Village Ski and Snowboard Resort, opens to skiers and riders.

“With Goat’s Eye, ALL three of Sunshine’s mountains are now open,” said John Scurfield, Senior Vice-president Resort operations, Marketing and Sales. "It’s the best skiing experience in the Rockies."

The much-anticipated opening of Goat’s Eye Mountain means all 12 of Sunshine’s lifts will be operating: eight quad chairs, the TeePee Town Chair double, the high-speed, eight-passenger gondola and two magic carpets. The Goat’s Eye Gardens restaurant at the base of Goat’s Eye is also open to guests.

The following runs are planned to be open: the blue Sunshine Coast run, Wildfire, Rolling Thunder, Silver and Bronze Scapegoat, Afterburner and Glade Runner. For the latest on run openings through the day, follow us on Twitter at @ssvsnowsafety.

Mountain Manager Al Matheson, who oversees safety and ski patrol, notes that early conditions still exist. Skiers and riders are advised to be on the lookout for unmarked natural hazards.
