Sunshine Village receives first snow of the season

August 24, 2016

This past Monday, August 22, skiers and riders rejoiced as they saw their beloved Sunshine Village receive its first skiff of snow leading up to the 2016-2017 ski season. Funnily enough, it was exactly one year ago on August 22, 2015 that Sunshine received its first bit of snow meaning Mother Nature is both on time and on point.

Don’t let that snow fool you though, there is still over a month to check Sunshine Meadows off your bucket list, in fact, September is prime larch viewing season in the Bow Valley. The Sunshine Gondola and Standish Chairlift run each weekend (Friday to Sunday) until Monday, September 5 and shuttles run from the Sunshine parking lot to the village until October 2, 2016. Let’s not forget that it’s almost back to school time too (que groans from the kids) and here at Sunshine we think the best way to kick off back to school is by booking your 2016 4-week Jump Start Ski School Lesson with our world-renowned ski and snowboard instructors. Programs are available for both kids and adults. For more information visit us here.
