Sunshine Village Ski Patrol

The Sunshine Village ski patrol team maintains a safe mountain environment for guests and staff. The ski patrol programs include: first aid, rescue, enforcement, lift evacuation, daily snow study and avalanche control.

The Sunshine Village mountain operations department maintains a team of trained ski patrol and snow safety staff to handle accident prevention, response, avalanche control and rescue and fire.

Sunshine Village is committed to maintaining an environment that fosters health and safety excellence for guests and staff. Further, we achieve continuous improvement in safe practices by focusing on prevention and education.

The ski patrol infirmary is located in the Mountain Holme building adjacent to the gondola. Dispatch is available during the ski day from 8 am - 5 pm. The hotel front desk is able to handle any incidents in the off-hours.

Should you come across an accident please help to control traffic and send for the ski patrol. Reports can be made to any lift station, staff member or by calling our Dispatch at (403) 762-6515.  Provide as much detail on location (e.g. the run name or near what lift).  It is also helpful if you can provide a description of the injured person’s clothing. Crossing your skis above an accident site is a widely recognized indicator of a person needing assistance.
