Forest Bathing - Now available at Banff Sunshine Village!

For decades, the Japanese have been practicing the art known as Shinrin-yoku (森林浴).

Introduced by the Japanese Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries in 1982, Shinrin-yoku translates to forest bathing in the English language and can be defined as connecting with the atmosphere of the forest.

Shinrin-yoku has gained popularity as benefits include lowering anxiety and increasing levels of vitamin D, as bathers spend time in nature as a preventative medicinal alternative to reduce stress.

Forest Bathing is now available exclusively at Sunshine Village! Inhale crisp, mountainous air as you relax & destress in the iconic Canadian Rockies!

Reservations are now open and FREE of charge for any hotel guest, season pass holder or lift ticket holder.

Forest bathing treatments include:

-Tree & Oxygen Bath

-Sunny Slope Bath

-Quiet & Serene Bath

-Double Black Bath

To book your forest bathing treatment, please visit our guest services desk at Bourgeau Base Area or the hotel front desk at the Sunshine Mountain Lodge. Please book your treatment 3-6 months in advance as bookings fill up fast.

At Banff Sunshine, we believe there is no grater harmony than the sounds of nature. To bring this unique mindfulness practice to Canada, we will be setting up a series of tubs amongst the slopes of Sunshine Village. Please note that privacy and warmwater can not be guaranteed.

Pick up your one-of-a-kind Sunshine Mountain Lodge bath robe at one of our many retail locations on resort. Indulge in the world of forest bathing and get your nature relaxation ON, only at Banff Sunshine Village!
