This July 1st, we’re bringing mountain magic and maple leaf pride together for a Canada Day celebration like no other—right here at Sunshine Village! Whether you’re hiking the meadows, enjoying a gondola ride, or soaking in the views from the deck, we’ve got a full day of family-friendly fun planned to help you celebrate in true alpine style.

Face Painting & Caricatures on Trapper’s Deck

Looking to add a little flair to your day in the mountains? Stop by Trapper’s Deck, where we’ll have two live artists ready to bring your Canada Day spirit to life!

• Face Painting: Kids (and kids at heart) can get decked out in red and white with maple leaves, wildlife, or whatever festive look you’re feeling.

• Caricature Artist: Sit for a quick sketch and take home a personalized mountain memory—come prepared with your best hiker pose, ski goggles, or Canadian attire.

It’s the perfect way to capture the moment—smiles guaranteed!

Sunshine Gondola Joins the Parade

Can’t make it up the mountain? Catch a little slice of Sunshine in town! This Canada Day, our iconic Sunshine gondola cabins will be rolling through both the Banff and Canmore parades. Give us a wave as we cruise by and bring the alpine vibes to the valley! We’re excited to be part of the community celebration and show off a little Sunshine style down below.

Retail Pop-Up on the Deck

Looking for the perfect souvenir or a last-minute hiking essential? Swing by our Retail Pop-Up, located on the deck outside the Interpretive Centre. We’ll have Sunshine-branded gear, summer must-haves, and festive Canada Day items available all day. It’s the ideal stop before (or after) hitting the trails!

Stretch Into Canada Day with Yoga in the Rockies

Start your Canada Day morning with fresh mountain air and even fresher vibes at Yoga in the Rockies, happening at 10:00 AM on the Daylodge Deck. This peaceful, open-air class is the perfect way to ground yourself before a day of celebration.

Participation is just $20, and it’s FREE for guests staying at Sunshine Mountain Lodge. Just BYOM—Bring Your Own Mat, and don’t forget the essentials: a water bottle, sunscreen, and a hat. Plan to arrive at the Daylodge by 9:45 AM to check in and secure your spot on the deck. Namaste in the mountains!
